If police dig your patio up because they suspect there could be human remains buried, do you get reimbursed?

No, I haven't got people buried under my patio. It's for a coursework piece I am doing. Do the police pay for damages caused when digging up a person's property?

Contrary to all of the answers being provided, you could seek reimbursement from the local city government or the county for which the officers work. The police department itself would not handle this end of the incident. The city or county would be responsible for reimbursing any damages for the actions you described.
